I've been trying to find out and figure out what the point of getting vaccinated is if the government isn't going to let places open up and and keep delaying the lifting of lockdown restrictions.

They are marketing these vaccines as the way out of all of this but as far as I can see absolutely nothing has changed, vaccine or not we'd all still be under lockdown.

If anyone here know's where to get any info on this I would like to read up on because all I find online is just news articles about the new variant and just current headlines. Not what I'm looking for.

Bit of random post I know but I wanted to ask you because I can't find anything and no one around me has any ideas either

  • at this point, i believe that they believe the vaccines worked, then the virus mutated around the vaccines so the vaccines probably dont work, but they wanna put on a act that the vaccines still work and carry on with it to not promote either fear or people distrusting the vaccines or people criticizing the big waste of money for a vaccine that got out maneuvered right away.

    either way as we saw from the response to the india strain the gov is clearly worried about that and i guess that is the one the vaccines wont work too well again and that can easily mutate again and again faster than we can create vaccines.

    But then if that's the case they should be honest and come out and say, look the vaccines didn't work they are not effective against new strains, we are sorry but tried. But don't worry the virus isn't that dangerous, in order to protect our self we are just going to have to live with it and in time we will develop herd immunity. There isn't anything else we can do, thank god this virus doesn't have 50% survival rate and it has a 99.7% survival.

    Look I know people will hate on me for this but at the end of the day the people that are dying of this virus are people that are dying, old and they would have to be careful with the regular flu anyway. The whole world doesn't deserve to put through what it has been through on account of a TINY TINY percentage of the population, sometime the saying "the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few" is right and this is one of those times. It wont be a nice part of our history to look back on of course but there have been many times in history where things were done that shouldn't have been but we learn from them and evolve as a society.
