What do you like about being autistic?

I'll start- I notice patterns, most people don't think about. I'm good at tuning people out and living in my own world. I like my speech is monotonous and detailed, I've had good feedback for that. So, what about you?

Parents
  • I like many of my autistic traits such as:

    • Visual thinking - makes it easier to write creatively
    • Attention to detail
    • Intensity of focus
    • Intensity of experience generally
    • Monotropic focus and commitment to work
    • Passionate about interests- particularly autism itself which I want to pursue for employment . I always want to know more about research topics such as autism
    • Strong empathy
    • Seeing things for what they are/honesty
    • Deep thinker, analytical and observant
    • Punctuality/rules and routines are really important
    • Different perspective with regards to everything

I really like being able to connect with and relate to  other autistic people.
