What do you like to buy and collect?

Maps; particularly as a keepsake of old adventures. Just about any kind of hand or power tool; and then use them for house maintenance etc. Recorded music. DIY manuals

I'm in that boat - I have every tool known to man - and often multiple versions of those tools from micro-electronics and modelling tools to standard electrician's tools to regular diy stuff to major tools like large concrete breakers, a big cement mixer and scaffolding with a crane.

I've got the big SDS drills too - but I'm talking one of those huge concrete breakers - about 30kg - smashes concrete slabs in seconds.   I love the smell of tools - the oiled steel and electrical / ozone smell.       

I've got all the pneumatic tools too - I can dismantle a complete car - I have all the weird  'star' bits in every size as well as big air-nailer's for doing structural woodwork - I can put 4" nails in all day.  

Oh yeah, I have one of those Kango-type things myself. I also use it as an oversized masonry drill. It certainly comes in useful fixing stuff down with anchor bolts. I'd probably be angling to pay your collection a site visit if it wasn't for the unfortunate fact that I live far abroad. I used to work in construction, and in the UK, there is huge enthusiasm for such tools on site. but alas here, no one really cares a shirt about such obsessions. Abuse it, break it, get another; whereas I'm constantly grooving on the wonderful uses of even the most basic retro tools. They are far more interested in the schmoozing the boss here! Very dull company! ;-)
