I know plenty of people who do feel the same way as you.
I like the thought that there may be some spiritual being that will judge us relatively benevolently - but I see no concrete proof of it.
Some people, and I might include myself, see the very creation of the world and human nature as some evidence that 'maybe' there is a god or some spiritual entity.
Another little shred of possible evidence (if you can call it that) is that so many people do believe in a god or some kind of spiritual entity. Though it is very interesting that opinions on gods or god have different over the millennia, so this could be seen as weak evidence by some.
Myself - I'm simply agnostic. Atheism doesn't make more sense than the existence of a god to me.
I know loads of atheists who don't believe in god, don't see any proof and, in their eyes, don't really see evidence of god either.
It's always an interesting question, I find.
at last someone to talk to !!!! and sorry my spellling is not good its part of me it seems to me that most people cant deal with the truth so thay need to invent miths to make them selfs feel better about life
What is a truth though? We seem to have eyes (and other senses) that sense things and feed the messages into the brain and that helps us interpret the world.
How much are our senses deceiving us? How much of existence do our senses miss out on?
It's fair enough to think that some might not be able to handle a godless truth. It's a valid view.
Then again, it's possibly fair enough that some people may think that atheists maybe can't handle a god-existing truth.
Which truth is the real truth?
I like the idea of us all helping each other out as much as we realistically can.
And yes, it seems like quite a few people see the world differently. They see it as a dog eat dog world in which we must be competitive with each other for resources. Some people see 'survival of the fittest' as a mark of our human nature.
I think both these sides are valid. I have to admit that I do actively seek to kill other living creatures at times -like bacteria, weeds or greenfly. I eat meat and fish and I buy flowers that have been chopped at the stem. I've also upset and hurt plenty of people. Not so willingly in recent years and yet it still happens from time to time as a harsh word comes out.
So, even though I like to try and be helpful, my competitive 'dog-eat-dog' side still comes through in the harm I do to various living things.
you must know we are all in the same boat we are born live die thats it and when we are here we should all work together to make life good for every one not try and get more then someone else but help every body ou doz this not make sence ?
The telescope metaphor sounds interesting, but I'd need a bit more explanation of this.
What do many people tend to miss? And what does the telescope allow some others to see?
