Any musicians here?
If so what instrument(s) do you play? And If you want to play any instruments what would you choose?
Music lovers. Do you have any favourites bands or genres?

Not at the moment, But soon hopefully
Cool. Are they available online?
That's awesome, I also write parodies
I play the guitar and use FL Studios to make daft house tracks and parodies.
I wish I were able to tinkle the ivories in an adequate manner.
Same about the 'not a musician' thing. Somehow that descriptor feels equivalent to 'I could do this for a living'. But... I do play the piano at a level one might charitably describe as 'competent after a lot of practice'. I love it, it's therapeutic, a stim in some ways, and gradually getting to grips with a piece gives me a lot of satisfaction and helps ease back on racing thoughts for a bit as different parts of the brain (and maybe soul) step in for a while and the 'goings-on'-ness of things becomes momentarily de-focussed.
Sometimes I play for quite a while, others I'll just play some bars of an old favourite while I wait for the kettle to boil. Most days I at least touch the keys...
So sorry to hear about the fire - that must have been awful, though at least you're here to tell the tale and able to rebuild, even if some thing remain sentimentally irreplaceable. Hoping that it's not too long before your next flute becomes a lifelong companion.
I wouldn't say I'm a musician, far from it lol but I do play the guitar. I don't play it much now but when I was in my teens and early 20s I was playing the guitar daily, mostly trying to play the songs Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift did. I did OK as well. I'm generally a fast learner.
I don't play it as much now. I've been trying to focus on improving my life these last few years, so I can work and be happier in myself. Maybe I'll pick up the guitar again afterwards.
Well I go by the artist name of DJ KIE and recently got signed by a label known as SonicBass Records, all my music is produced in a Digital Audio Workstation, although I struggle to get a song started, once I've begun I find it easy to continue with that song and finish it. I put a lot of work into my tracks, my recent tracks I've uploaded to both soundcloud and youtube are Globalize which releases on 24/05/24 and IMPENDING DOOM which releases in June
Haha my current favourite bands are ones I am going to see, so I like to have a run through of all the albums ahead of time, so I know all the words to all the songs. :-) So currently Nickelback, Bullet For My Valentine, and Trivium.
Other favourites are Rammstein (amazing seeing them live), Seether, The Rasmus, and Puddle of Mudd. Although, I do have a lot of "guilty pleasure" music: Tokio Hotel (childhood fave), HSM soundtracks, and Paris Hilton of all people (she oddly has a few good tunes). :-)
I used to play the flute when I was at school. I was terrible at it lol. I traded it in for learning the keyboard after, I was much better at that, and then I learned the guitar after that. I love the sound of the flute and the recorder but I'm terrible at both.
I love music. Music is in my soul....I love to make music on my guitar, and I have apps on my phone which allows me to create music. It's pretty cool actually. I use these apps a lot and in the past have used them to make two songs that I wrote.
My fave singer is David Bowie. I love his music, he was so unique, and his songs are so insightful and perfect.
I play the silver flute. Mine burned up in the fire and now I am shopping for a new one. It was a sweet gemienhardt open hole C. Saving for it. I miss it. I lost all my sheet music too. most of it was scanned but I will be building that library up too. O'Neill's Music of Ireland will be the first I buy. sometimes I think I could just get by with a few tin whistles, though, and be happy. I do like rags and stomps too which have lots of accidentals so. mulling it all over. thoughts?
Oh- and mozart.
I used to play the bass in a band some 30 years ago or so. Did a lot of gigging, particularly in London, released a single which got played a couple of times on Radio 1.
I'd like to take up the drums - had a free trial lesson recently, but being out of work the moments means that I can't commit to more lessons. Been considering getting an entry level digital kit for a while - Christmas is just around the corner LOL!
Likewise, music takes me away from all my worries and stress. At the moment I just make do with listening rather than playing.
I can sing also my voice is like an angel-
thats so awsome I would love to here you play some time
Not a musician.... but a hobbiest for sure yeah! I play the guitar, drums, piano, flute and violin though I'm that good at the violin. I had a saxophone as well but it got damaged. I will be replacing it at some point in the future.
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark are my favourite group followed close by Queen.
What's your favourite band?
Ooh, Irish flute can be gorgeous. I don't play it myself but I used to go to a mixed instrument folk music summer school which had a flute class (I play diatonic accordion). Have you heard of Jiggy? They make this great mix of ITM, Bhangra and electronic stuff like Leftfield. I can definitely recommend them! I love to talk about music but sometimes get carried away..
Currently I'm playing guitar, bass, learning mandolin (+octave mandolin), programming drums (mix of midi finger drumming and learning with an electronic drum kit), mixing, snipping audio samples from news reports and elsewhere and.... That's about it.
It sounds more impressive when I write it down than it actually is.
