Any musicians here?
If so what instrument(s) do you play? And If you want to play any instruments what would you choose?
Music lovers. Do you have any favourites bands or genres?

I like ballet it requires skill and devotion, I admire that
some musicals are good, for most | lack reference to reciprocate
but in general singing over last 40 years declined in quality farther than the bottom I imagined, there is no skill, even lyrics are just utter nonsese ganster crap
I got into playing the piano at a young age (turned out to be rather good if i do say so myself!) and recently picked it up again. I am currently progressing with the guitar and am looking at buying an electric one. I would love to learn how to play the drums. I absolutely LOVE musicals and have always seen music as my safe space (i often get very emotional when listening to songs). This is a part of why i enjoy my ballet and pointe work so much! Even though i get so overwhelmed in public places, i adore the feeling of being at music concerts. I am hopefully going to see Rex Orange County soon (he is my favourite musician and i cannot wait)!
what about Lindsey Stirling? www.youtube.com/watch
what about playing something from your arsenal?
It looks like playing ambitious pieces of music is your Special Interest
so, why not try composing?
I love the sound of violin and flute. I like ethnic music a lot, but it was easier to learn violin and cello notes. If anyone here also likes classical instruments, PM me. I'm also wondering if I can make my own sound amplifier for the violin to make it sound stronger than the rock treatment. I found some options on evergreenviolin.com for violin, but don't know how to wire it up and use it properly. I really like Vanessa-Mae and how her music is handled in a modern way. I already bought a bow like hers, now I want to perform something from her arsenal
Piano
violin
I’m trying to regenerate my enthusiasm for violin.
I wanted to be professional but a surgeon mucked up an operation on my right ear so goodbye orchestral playing.
I now focus on Iano.
a teacher once said ‘you need to be very self critical if you want to play professionally: my literalism led me to hate playing
how did you dig that topic out? kudos
I used to play recorder as a kid, stopped in adolescence because of bullying, it's hard to start again
but
Lucie Horsch is the best recorder player alive (I say)

and an old one when she was a kid, one of my awes
My mum put me into lessons because she thought it would help me become more creative, she also put me into ballet to make me less clumsy. Neither strategy worked but I love watching other people dance and I can play a fairly wide repertoire of stuff, just can't make a tune up to save my life.
Hi - I'm into synths and electronic music - heavy arpeggio synth basslines - anything from Donna Summer / Moroder to Depeche Mode to The Prodigy to Indiana (Solo Dancing). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSrktmE963I
I love the robotic, repetitive, sequenced predictability of the basic production with creative sparkles added here and there to excite the ears & brain.
I've owned over 100 classic synths over the years - ARP Solina, Octave Cat, Casio CZ5000, Korg Poly61, Roland JD800 and many, many others.
A company called Behringer are reproducing many of the old classics - I really want to be left alone in their showroom......
That's awesome, I've always loved the violin and Viola,
I play bass guitar and piano, and I used to play cello but I haven't for a few years.
My favourite genres are 80s, rock, Indie and electronic dance music. I recently got really into a band called Parcels and I like playing bass guitar along to their songs, it's very fun.
Guitar (various types), mandolin, flute, organ, recorder and various types of percussion instrument. I also play violin and theramin at times, and I make and play cigar box guitars and other similar instruments. I also sing.
I play a lot of different types of music, but tend to prefer folk, blues and rock. It depends on whether I am playing for myself or for others, who may prefer something different.
