CHICKEN POX

I had Chicken Pox,, really bad when I was young, my two brothers also had the disease at the same time but laughed and skipped about eating Ice Cream, whilst I went into fever, a mass of spots and near death.

Anyone else with Autism experience Chicken Pox really badly ?

There is another reason why I write this post, my son also caught chicken pox and since then as been diagnosed also with Autism.

If I look at photos of him, he is a different person post chicken pox, you can see it in the photos of him quite evident.

    I have Crohn's disease. And so does my sister.

    I have Asperger's. She does not (or any Autistic Spectrum condition).

    Crohn's is also a primarily genetic disease.

    And the higher than normal incidence of Crohn's in the Autistic population suggests nothing more than a link between the underlying genetic causes of them both.

    Once again, correlation does not imply causality.

    It can however imply a link between the underlying causes of the different conditions.

    Genes are very complex, and there is not a gene for Autism, or a gene for Crohn's, but rather it is the interactions between numerous proteins coded for by several genes (and possibly environmently occuring chemical factors) that cause conditions and diseases such as Autism and Crohn's.
