...Greetings. I am glad to finally see a Random Chat Thread again. Yet, With regards to what I Myself am doing, I would appear to be having disparate troubles with using an old tablet upon a newly updated Forum... or something. (!)
yw.... have a good week..
u mite try a free chess site like lichess. everything is free, you can play against people at your level, fast chess, blitz, etc... they also have computer chess, which i don't enjoy. since it's a free site, they have free computer analysis and engines... lately i just been playing when i'm bored and depressed.... not a good combo. but i stop after a game or two, so no harm, no foul... i like the patterns and preciseness of chess.
i have a love hate relationship with chess :) i love it when i win and hate it when i lose.
I mainly lose when i don't spot a piece about to be taken. Now i am working on that area. I generally play enjoy speed chess ie the games ends in 10 minutes and a winner then declared by points. SO decisions are fast and I make mistakes ( the computer doesnt ). Human/human speed chess can lead to u beating someone high ranking which encourages you.
i keep it light and try to improve a wee bit. I am still at beginner level and dont mind being there. I appreciate the game and understand why it is mind blowing/interesting/important.
nowadays u can lower the skill level so you can win all the time or 9 out of 10 times. I might have to do that because my ability to end a game/kill the king quickly is not good I just laugh at myself
i was playing chess a few years ago, then teaching kids chess in a library. it's the only thing i can teach well. i'm an average player, but i have a reasonable understanding of it. do you enjoy playing? oh, i'd have horrible temper tantrums when i'd lose..........one reason i gave it up.
Didn't get the job I was interviewed for last Thursday. But I have put my name down for Fibrus - Fibre-Optic solutions for the Boonies - to see if I'm good enough to be interviewed.
Apart from that, I did laundry, attended a Video Class - on assertiveness, and attended a Zoom meeting.
Also, I attended an online Mass and I got more Tim Horton's today; that I ordered from Amazon last Friday.
Thank you. I too go cycling and notice where the litter is then go an pick it as a way to say thank you for the amazing countryside. Thank you for your litter picking, it all makes a difference.
new here...is this for what people are doing today??? made breakfast - huge pot of black tea, w honey and cream, sole, chard.. toast with almond butter... dropped a fork, threw a brief cursing fit. i'm getting used to 'those.' then filled a spinning reel with 55 yds of heavy line. quite frustrating, as it tangles a lot, and everyone and their brother, dog, cat and what-not has their own ideas on what is the 'right' way to avoid tangles... surprisingly, no cursing or screaming. my sister didn't invite me for thanksgiving dinner (i'm in the usa), which i am really upset over. worst thanksgiving ever. i'll probably head out to see if my new spinning reel with its new line actually functions well......... have a good rest of the week...
went to my girlfriends Aunt's funeral today. It was a good funeral if that make sense. I tried to help her and my stepdaughter as best I could. I know some people find it's odd I don't "look sad" but I just say it's how I deal with it. On a positive note Aunty was an amazing woman and I was lucky to have met her, she once said "I like your honesty Paul.... don't change" so I won't.
i so hate that,, when cycling u just see how dirty some people are. thanks for picking up rubbish, i do it as well just on smaller scale.
BTW i grew up in the rain so i love it
These new ARM/Apple chips are supposed to be really quick.
Hello Aidie,
I went litter picking here around the moors as I like to keep the area clean. I collected five bags and one face mask. I got caught out in the rain before I could change in to waterproofs so got wet. Back home for more maintance work to cure a mystery fuel leak on my Land Rover. I am pleased to have been able to collect some bags of rubbish that had been thrown out and were littering the roadside and making a mess.
