Religious thinking

Easy, to answer your question more in depth,,with Aspergers,, I find life is my religion. My family once (seriously) accused me of being an Alien. They say I speak like Data(Star trek) and act like Jesus. Honestly if it had been a couple of hundred years ago, I would have been tarred and burned at the stake probably.

On the bigger picture note, I see the same small patterns and big patterns in life, so in a way there is nothing to find in the picture, it is just relative perception. The mind and body have a greater vessel and can open up awareness and perception levels to an omni spiral and atomic fire levels,, so all form is still the essence of that which is essence. So, the religious question is too illogically separate storylined for me. Wholistically speaking, says the ladder made from nothing.

My guess is that aspies would be more biased to a universal order, the idea that there is a universal design and plan,

Aspies would live a more detached and prayerful life, more emphasis on books and learning, more mystic.

NT's would find the idea that we are made in the image of God and he shares our sorrows and feelings more appealing.

and they would be more inclined to church growth, practical acts of caring, friendship and building the church as a powerful social influence.

I think this is like anything.

You can talk about statistical rates of prevelance, but that neither make us all the same, nor makes stereotypical statements like "most people with Asperger's don't believe in God" false.

We're all different. Some of us believe. Many, if not most, of us don't.

I think Hope raises an interesting question, that is do people with Asperger's believe differently to those without?

However, and I must say that I have no evidence to point in one direction or the other, but my gut feeling is that, religious belief is probably one of those things that both does and does not differ both within and without Asperger's. That is to say there is as much variation in the 'kind of belief', and the 'reasons for believing', amongst those that believe within the Autistic world as within the Neurotypical world.

I am not religious, but I know people with Aspergers who do believe. The question is, do they believe differently to people without Aspergers?
