This is my first post on here,

I'm really not to sure how to start this... Not very good at this type of thing, so please bare with me 

I'm Cookies and I'm from the UK.

I have been struggling quite a lot the past year as I imagine most people are in these awful times. This current situation really doesn't help. I'm a very anxious and panicky person generally and alPensivel my routines have gone out the window since March. I have only managed to go outside of my house once since March and that was because my Dad died and I had to go to his funeral Pensive And it probably sounds really bad but if I could have got out of it I would... Not because he didn't mean a lot to me just I don't know really.

Anyway my main reason for posting on here was really to find out if anyone in the community has any ideas/ways that they have been able to get through these hard times? I get that not everything will work for everyone, just looking for insight to other peoples ways Slight smile

Anyway Thankyou for reading to the end! I'm really anxious about posting this and I think ive proof read it enough times.

  • Many members here have taken up meditation. you could try that to knock down your anxiety. Its free, costs nothing, even attempting it has an affect.

    If u do a say 10 minutes per day every day for 30 days you will feel a change. If u have a phone there are several apps you can use, but you can also use guided meditations in youtube for free as well. Search for "guided meditation for anxiety" OR "guided meditation for relaxation" lie on a bed with headphones Headphones on and follow the guide.

    Tip: Try at least 3 times if u cant get into it.  Your mind wont want to do this so it may well put up serious resistance like distracting thoughts Hear no evil

    wishing u relieve from anxiety and panic attacks

    PS for panic attacks use the Box Breathing technique as taught by US army. Focus on the relaxation felt during and just after you do it.

    Key is :  practise it ( on the bus walking watching TV ) once a day as well so you can use it when anxiety and panic sets in. It works.
