Any Doctor Who fans?

It's my favorite TV show, and my screen name actually comes from a Time Lord character that I created and write short stories with. I thought it would be pretty cool to strike up a conversation about the series. Who's your favorite Doctor? Who's your favorite companion? Do you have a favorite episode? A favorite villain?

I like William Hartnell from the original run and David Tennant from the current run. Amy Pond is my favorite companion (and I'll admit that her red hair contributes greatly to that). My favorite episode and villain are tied together, because I like "Blink" and the weeping angels.

Any other fans feel free to jump in and make any other comments you might have about the program.

  • I used to be a Dr Who fan - right up until Matt Smith who I found to be just too irritating - and it's gone off a cliff since - can't watch it.        I lived through the hippy-trippy 70s episodes of Tom Baker and  Jon Pertwee but Tennant / Piper was by far my favourite pairing - a proper Dr with a highly capable assistant - not a 70s 'screamer'.

My favourite episodes are Blink and Girl in the Fireplace - both brilliantly written and played.

  • I'd say I'm neutral toward Smith. Not my favorite, but I didn't dislike him either. Though. I don't think there's been a Doctor I didn't like. AS for Rose, I liked her at first, then it went a bit downhill for me, but they ended the character well, so I'd say there was some redemption.

So, with the comment about the "screamer" companions, would I be correct in guessing that Leela is much more up your alley for an original run companion than Sarah Jane?
