Drive-By Posts

Am I the only one noticing lots and lots of new posts from new users where they never return to check back with their urgent questions?       It's like they are cut-n-pastes from other forums.      I'm beginning to think these are just padding to make the forum look more busy than it really is.

I'm getting very reluctant to bother replying to any of them as I don't believe they are real people.

Anyone else noticing this pattern?

  • This is also a forum for people affected by ASD difficulties and we need to keep in mind that if there are not responses, it can also be because a person has no idea what to say or how to respond, this happens with me a LOT, I tend to be more responsive to practical stuff or direct experiential stuff because then I know what to say and a lot of the time if I get an answer to a question, that's it, my brain just stops there.

My OT pointed this out to me when I mentioned once about finding the forum 'difficult' sometimes with what people replied with and she said to me to try to remember that those people also have difficulties like me, I try to do that.

I may have missed the point of this conversation, but sometimes it seems there is also 'pressure' on the forum to be 'social' here too, when some people are just looking for information or even use conversation as a means of obtaining information rather than for 'social' purposes.
