Example : do they give as much time, money,peace, safety, happiness, enjoyment, food, day trips, car journeys. Ect as they take.

It's a balance. 

That's how you know someone respects (more important than likes) you. 

"Sounds great" means they like the idea.

Really? Are you sure? Why would it? 

It definitely suggests that they do, yes.
