Is this something you would say to someone you care about yourself?

They may be kind to your face but bad-mouth you behind your back. I got a twelve-minute lecture from a female friend I used to work with - and the closest woman I ever had to a girlfriend. But we made up after I was able to explain my side of the story on Messenger that night.

In the 'platonic' rather than the 'romantic' sense of 'caring' ~ it would be reasonable to consider that the person likes who they are addressing as a friend and wishes them well as like lots of others they know.
