just say something silly or something that makes you happy or just a favorite word, or really bad advice, or things that wind you up or things that will really wind someone up in a funny way

That is why I mentioned him.
If I ever get around to the memoirs, it will likely be a bit of a piss-take of myself. For my own benefit mainly. I sometimes take myself a bit too too seriously, and if i really expect people to read my stuff, I'm definitely going to have to meet them half way. But life always has been quite risible, anyway!
The BBC have employed the arresting officer to write a period drama.
You can still do something about it, with that positive attitude, I'm sure. ;-)
I take some comfort from the fact that most people do not really have the will power to carry it out. That's me all over. Having always figured that i would almost certainly fail miserably, all thoughts of suicide were almost instantly dismissed. So back to the endless depression. Well, I never really thought I could make that work either, so I usually just went for a long solitary walk to get over it; observing the wildlife as I went. I read an article yesterday that actually put a price dividend on the idea of getting depressed people interested in environmental projects. (6-10 times the cash layout for repairing the damage done. Some people turned their new interest into a career/life.) It rang some real bells in my own experience. And more pointers for my next career.
I remember one medical guy who got so fed up with stitching up the bits after numerous failed suicides that he used to give his patients a running commentary, during the repair process, on how to be more effectively suicidal. Fortunately, that sort of pep talk did nothing for his own career.
It's a good one. But how do you then calm down those around you. Teaching English and advising people (in the country where I live are essentially both a total waste of time. Forget communicating directly a desire to calm things down. But perhaps a few haikus in the first and second local language might work better. Posted up for random reading, rather than read out aloud. Public speaking here really is the best form of mass hypnosis. ;-) But that gives me an idea: Haikus as a suggestion, under hypnosis
Silly, of course; but that's this thread. Yes, I don't think i need to worry too much about Rick. ;-) He is to be applauded.
It depends who it is, sometimes I correct them! Oh I’m a life long OCD sufferer. I’ve got it down to my ‘baseline level’ at the moment which is basically ‘mild’ OCD at a level I can tolerate that doesn’t interfere with my life too much. As opposed to the several hours a day or more when it’s really bad!
Have we been rickrolled? I'm not really certain. Poor Rick! Having to rely on Dave Grohl and Cloudy Mountains for a living! ;-)
Rick made a nice chunk of money from the whole Rickroll thing!
i like him hes such a nice guy takes the piss out of himself. Not a fan of his music. He would love you mentioning him :)
He still looks about 35. That positive attitude has probably kept him looking young!
