Obsession

Our son has lots of obsessions and at the moment it is xbox.  I have limited his time on the xbox but even when he comes off he talks about it non stop, he talks about the games and the other players and he gets very excitable and emotional and shouts at us alot.  He wont seem to listen to us when we try and advise him on the situation.   We were thinking about writing down some house rules regarding xbox. Does anyone else have these difficulties? I would be grateful for any advice.  He has had other obsessions which have come and gone, but when one obsession goes something always takes its place.

  • Hi I’m new to this I’m struggling with my 17 year old son. He is constantly on his iPad or computer playing online games and talking to other people who play the same games. I try my best to get him to socialise with family but he always says no. His sleep pattern is nocturnal with makes it difficult. He went up to the moors at midnight a few months ago and went to sleep up there!! I’m at my wits end I’m getting no help and feel so alone. Any suggestions gratefully received.
