I'm a big fan of the original Back to The Future film. I think it's perfect in every way (for its time) and it leads you gently through the story, dropping all the information you need so it's simple to follow.
I've watched it many, many times and I've seen the 3rd one a few times as well although I'm not a fan.
I've NEVER seen the second film. I can't do it. I cannot engage with it - something puts me off no more than 20 minutes in. I can't even be bothered to read the Wiki-spoiler to see how it ends.
I just don't care for it.
So what classic films have you NEVER managed to make it to the end?
There are a lot of films I've started watching but then 'binned' but none I can recall trying repeatedly.
In terms of deliberate avoidance, I guess a lot of the 'reboot' type films one example being 'Carrie' - the original was so true to the book and so good I can't imagine an updated version being able to stand up against it.
Also any of the "Sharknado"-type films... just utter dross... low budget, bad acting, poor storyline - not like in the good old days of low-budget e.g. 'Tremors'...
The Dawn of the Dead remake was good imo. Reading your post down below, they made the zombies pretty hostile, and they could actually run!
I actually thought the Carrie with Chloe Moretz was ok, I can only think the reason for a lot of these reboots is to keep legal options on the brand. Any old rubbish will do to refresh the franchise and reset the legal clock..
