  • Hi Jimbo,

first of all welcome to the community :-)

second, you are different, NOT defective! ok?

third, try not to dwell on the things you did as a child.  You were a child, you're allowed to do stupid and childish things then.  Now you are growing into a young man (I'm assuming you're a boy 'cause of the name Jimbo)

It sounds like you might be depressed. If you think you may be depressed I really would urge you discuss this with a professional, either at school or your doctor.  That's what they are there for and they will be happy to help.

Autistic people grow and mature (*ahem* some of us not very much lol) as do NT people.  We can learn better ways to socialise and have friends. Many many people on the spectrum get married and have children.  We can have jobs and cars and happy lives and fun and friends.

You have lots of talents that only you have and it sounds like you need a little help from your support network, mentor or whatever is available to help you become more comfortable in your skin.

    Take care!!!
    Tara :-)
