One Line Wonders

"When you've met one autistic person, you've met one autistic person."

I'm sure that many of us have now encountered that little bon-mot many times already; true though it is, it is getting to be a bit of a cliche. So, after noting some of the interesting things that people pick out when we quote each others posts, I thought I'd start a thread to see what fresh, new, or rarely heard little aphorisms we could come up with of our own.

Here's a handful I use a lot to get the ball rolling...

  • When you're fighting an invisible monster, first throw a bucket of paint over it.
  • It's not being autistic that I find difficult, it's the pretending not to be.
  • I'm not stupid; but I am slow.
  • Autism isn't about what we do; it's about why and how we do it.

Anyone else have any catchy one-liners that describe being autistic to them? (Guaranteed upvote for any funny ones!)
