Let down again

I was supposed to be having family come down and help me move a load of my friends stuff out of the house an into a storage unit ready for the electrician to come and do a load of work thats been waiting for a year and a half, its been cancelled due to various illnesses 3 times and now it looks like a 4th as everyones ill including my step son who has the trailer that was going to move all furniture.

I know its no ones fault, again, but I'm so fed up and exhausted, I've been busting a gut for the last 6 weeks getting everything ready and now it's all systems stop instead of go.

It just feels like another one of those times when I feel that theres no point in asking anyone to do anything as I will be let down at the last minute, now I've got to try and cancel the storage unit and hope I can get my money back £150. I really do feel so fed up and let down, I so wanted all this work done so as I can get on with other things like decorating, now I'm physically and mentally stuck. I don't know whether to cry  or bang my head against the wall.

  • I can fully understand how you must feel, it’s happened to me on many occasions. It’s led me to not ask for help, I would rather do something myself and know it’s done.I find ‘trades’ are the worst, often a no show stops other work from happening.I’ve ended up quite depressed and thinking it must be my fault.

I appreciate you can’t move large items on your own, I’ve used a company called Shiply.com  just put in the collection and delivery address or postcodes, what it is and when you need it moved. Quotes will start to come back, I’ve found them very cheap and reliable. I’ve even had non running cars moved over long distances. All carriers are fully insured.

Another option is a local ‘man with a van.’ They tend to be good value.
