I can't grow out of it

Unpredictability causes me a huge stress. In moments like this I think that im totally Unfit for this world. My manager told me today, that he just terminated his contract and he is here till the end of October. The same time, when I have my assessments. I started crying instantly,  as I heard the news. I explained to him that im crying, because I got used to him being here our manager. He said, he will miss us as a team, but he has disagreements with the boss. I understand. On one hand I'm grateful that he let me know in advance,  on other hand, he said that at an unfortunate moment short before a big delivery,  when I had to concentrate and struggled to calm down and stop crying. I don't want to react so emotionally. I can't change it. It's always like this ans it's stronger than me. It's part of my disability. I also started asking him questions about the future, what will happen, who will come instead of him etc.

Just sharing. I'm pretty distressed now, but I have a new lego set in my bag. I will try to build something this evening.

  • Thank you both,   and   i often feel that the world is crazy and ask myself when it finally stops changing. I dont have any personal bond with my manager, im just used to see him, he is quite calm so now im anxious about whole series of changes that gonna affect us. It feels wrong and terryfying.

Thank you for the understanding. I unpacked the lego set, maybe later i take some pictures of it. There are 2 girls, car and motorbike. I already had a little fun.

  • Yes, not everyone has a manager they like and get on with so it's understandable you feel so upset about him leaving. It sounds like you formed an emotional bond and that's not always easy to replace. Still, let's home your next manager will ok - it takes time to get used to new people.

  • I wouldn't say it's an emotional bond, I just got used to have him there as manager. He was not perfect, actually once or twice behaved like an a**hole. I'm just anxious about the future. What is good about him is that he is calm and quite flexible when it comes to schedule and appointments etc. But he also leaves a mess after himself, snd trail of unfinished tasks that I finish after him. So there is chance, we may have someone better but there is risk it could be worse.

  • I see, so he's not perfect but you have adjusted to him and know, more or less what, to expect It's the not knowing what's coming next that upsets you so much, isn't it Alien0n3arth?
