Nothing is being taken seriously anymore

This is my conclusion after today's situation. I suddenly started feeling weak. Didn't know, why. It's nothing unusual that I feel bad and don't know, why. One colleague talked to me and asked if I feel unwell and suggested that I make a break. When I mentioned being in a diagnostic process,  he started laughing. I asked him why he was laughing. I didn't find it funny. And I added that im waiting for my blood test results. Then he said, that he thought,  that I was diagnosing myself. I asked, why should I do it. He answered that there are all kind of idiots in this world. It hit me, but decided to not continue this topic. Because I knew, I wouldn't get any bit of understanding from him. He laughed and said something else under his breath but when I asked what did he say, he said nothing. Later I couldn't stop thinking about it. I want to emphasise,  that I didn't mention any specific diagnosis, or suspected diagnosis, past diagnosis etc. I just felt bad again and mentioned diagnostic process and blood tests. Maybe this guy uses tiktok and stumbled upon self diagnosed people with all kind of conditions etc. And maybe that was the reason for his reaction. Or maybe nobody takes me seriously,  because as I already heard, its visible, that there is something wrong with me.

I can't stop thinking about it. What his reaction meant, why he laughed and what does it have to do with me, or not with me. Im Sorry, just sharing. Maybe someone has any idea.

  • This is awful behaviour from him. He sounds so ignorant in believing that people can self diagnose themselves (they 100% can). Self diagnosis shows great awareness, strength and maturity, to have the knowledge in recognising a condition and then looking to address it. Your title makes a lot of sense, a lot of people's suffering is desensitised and not considered properly.

It's understandable to replay such a rude reaction, I think a lot of us here have been in similar positions. The nasty behaviour is so unnecessary, especially for you who is/was going through a hard time physically. Love is the absence of judgement.

    How are you doing now?
