General health and wellbeing

I already have ways of looking after my mental health and wellbeing but wondered if there was anything people do that I haven't thought I of

  1. I have a sleep schedule which proves to help me relax before bedtime
  2. I also have some techniques when I'm anxious etc which seem to help
  3. I have a list of activities I enjoy which I focus on

I was wondering if there's anything else which people do, which would help my mental health and wellbeing

  • I really believe diet plays a big role in how we feel in general, having the right amount of the right sorts of oils, mostly omegas, they can be taken as supplements but its better to have them from your food.

What is it about fruit that you don't like?

And veg too, is it the way they're cooked, are you OK with some that are raw? Sometimes hiding them in other things helps, I load my homemade bolognaise sauce with loads of veg, even grated veg will bulk up a dish and you won't realy notice they're there, but you get the benefits from them. What about juices and smoothies?

  • There's limited veg I'll eat and won't eat any fruit
. I've only tried raw carrot and didn't like it - even tried some salad things and don't like them!

I am similar with food and it's common for us autists.

The foods I will eat are very limited but much more so in childhood.

My mother spoke to the family doctor about it and this was many decades ago long before someone like me might have been diagnosed.

I now have digestive and motility problems that have made it worse.

There is a guide here although it's irritatingly written as though you are looking after an autistic person rather than yourself.

  • It's the texture / taste of the fruits I've tried

The veg I've tried I'm okay with Carrots, Cauliflower (although do prefer cheese sauce on it), I used to eat broccoli but then went off it. I've only tried raw carrot and didn't like it - even tried some salad things and don't like them!
