The dreaded day approaches

The day where I have to do all the migration to UC from ESA, I know I posted on it before and Bunny gave me some places to go for advice, but I can't find the thread.

Yesterday I looked at all the stuff for it on the government website and it looked really scary. Is there an actual physical form or is it all online? Do you get a chance to save it and go back to it? I'm reluctant to ask the CAB for help as the last couple of times I've had contact with them have been very negative, punishing and extremely NT.

My only consolation is that I can procrastinate as the forms not sue until the end of the month, but I know I've got to screw myself up to do this.

  • This is wrong - you do need to reapply and you are only guaranteed to get transitional protection if you reapply within the time limit.   The transitional protection means you don't immediately get less money, however if it works out that UC would be less then you get a top up to what you are currently getting and the amount you get is frozen until annual inflation causes the value of what you are receiving to equal UC (in reality an annual reduction in income).
