Hi,

Should I disclose to HR that I am autistic?

I was only diagnosed last year. I have been struggling lately and I have been absent a lot. I am scared that they might give me a disciplinary or something.

Any advice would be deeply appreciated

  • in my experience you will need to gauge how supportive your management are. If you have the proper support go for it if it helps. In my case I asked for some specific supports, was refused and now find myself in temporary placements out with my field and my career of over 30 years ended.

    But not everywhere is like where I work. I really hope someone posts some positive things to help you decide. I don't want to be negative but be cautious and naive like I was.
