Assessment day

Well it's finally arrived, I'm getting my assignment today. I've been the NHS waiting list for almost 3 years without any end in sight.

I requested "the right to choose" from my GP about a month ago, I was given a list of providers and I chose Skylight as they had a practice not too far away.

I got an email from them within a week with links for various questionnaires. An appointment for a video interview came shortly after that and now I have my face to face assessment.

To say I'm quietly freaking out is an understatement!

I know there's no real pass or fail to the questions but it doesn't really help.

If it turns out that I'm really not part of the community, I don't know where to turn next.

  • It's an anxiety inducing process but you will get through it. You have the right to request accomodations to make you feel more comfortable in the assessment. If you are a masker, try not to mask. ( I was masking heavily for my first interview and at the end of it I don't think the assessor thought I was autistic. However by the next interview I was so stressed and tired and depressed that I couldn't mask and she said there was a noticeable change).

I hope you get the answers you are seeking.
