Day-to-day & Socialising "20's"

Hello everyone,

How do you all manage your everyday chores or living? I'm quite prone to putting off basic tasks such as dishes, washing, cleaning or even self maintenance. I'm by no means a lazy person and I'm always really busy. I just struggle with motivation, I wouldnt say I'm depressed but just unmotivated.

The only time I actually feel happy is when I'm at work, and thats only because my brain is distracted. As soon as I have free time I just struggle to actually do anything.

How do I manage the everyday? Can I make it easier for myself? How do you manage?

Also any advice on getting new friends and or hobbies would be great! I'm early 20's so it's quite a struggle.

Thank you :)

  • Most people who I vibe with tend to be retired haha. But that's a good idea about making lists.

I tend to have relaxed and more 'mature' interests? Allotments, gardening, politics, hiking, classic music or theatre. Arty stuff too.

I made good friends when I lived in York but now I live in quite a rural area so its hard to join groups or clubs that arent just retired people... Like where is the young persons ramblers, grr...

  • I don't do well with drugs or feeling different. Meds always seem to make me depressed? I always do things good for me but it just takes me a very long time for me to finish things or get them started if that makes sense?

Meditation helps me calm down and focus to a point, maybe give that a go?

  • I know the feeling. It can be really overwhelming. This is a bit silly, but sometimes I pretend i'm a sim and that I am forced to do chores outside of my will Joy other times I find listening to music or having a tv show or youtube video in the background is helpful. I also recommend writing a list of chores that need to be done and doing them one at a time. When I have lots of things I need to do, I get overwhelmed. But when I do it one step at a time, it becomes a bit easier! It is still draining though, so don't feel bad if you need to take a break or two!

As for friends, I've found that the best thing is shared interests. For example, say there is a local karate club, and you love karate (odd example chosen at random!), you could make friends there. I have also found that I have made friends simply by talking to random people. You won't mesh with everyone, and some people are rude or unfriendly, but you are bound to make a friend if you talk to lots of people!

It can be tough, but don't give up! And you can always message me! Grinning

  • I am quite self-destructive. I don't manage things well... I'd like to get free adderal, but the system is broken here in the UK
