Feeling like I'm not good enough for society

My whole life it's like I'm below everyone else. Always last to be picked in group activities, people treating me like a toddler, always the second option. And I can tell myself that it's the world that's wrong not me but either way no one's ever going to think I'm good enough for society and it is what it is and it's embarrassing and it's stupid but it's true. Maybe their wrong, maybe their right but the result is still me being fundamentally unlikeable.

  • My belief is that it comes down to society not understanding autism at all. If society understood autism, autistic people would be viewed and treated as human beings. We would be equal to everyone else. Our lives would be valued equally to everyone else’s.

For me, battling the NHS for help made me realise our lives are not equal. If they were, would it be such a challenge to get help, when you know you need help? Would we be ostracised for being ourselves?

It truly is this world that is messed up, not us. This world is without reason. Everything important lacks logic. Only the luxuries have care and thought in their design and implementation. People literally die because of how our world operates. That’s absolutely messed up. That’s not the product of a just world, or a fair world.
