Burnout and work

So in the last two months, I have been signed off by my doctor twice. I'm still not well but my employer has decided that I don't qualify for company sick pay.

I've been struggling with burnout for most of the year this has caused a lot of issues. My standard of work has gotten worse and I have taken short cuts, to avoid stress. Back in April I contacted COVID and this seems to be the catalyst for all my physical, mental and emotional health.

They have told me that, I'm not eligible due to the amount of time off.

  • Hi Ed's

So sorry to hear that you're so unwell, this is really awful and must be so stressful for you.

I think you might be able to claim some sort of benefit (?) I am no expert, but I think you can get universal credit if you are out of work.

My employers only provide sick pay for x number of weeks, before you're transferred to SSP (statutory sick pay) that the government entitles you to, I think. Are you in the UK?

I also had a couple of very bad concurrent burnout periods and sick leave and my employer stopped helping after a while.

Here if you need to chat - I'm sure someone will be along shortly who understands the benefit system better. x
