Hello guys, just wondering if anyone is currently awaiting assessment via Psychiatry UK? I'm concerned about a lack of response to my messages and form submissions. Any information appreciated. With thanks Gavin

GPs are pretty frontline and are unlikely to be scrapped. This is a very late reply but I only just saw it now, and I wanted to say if you are not getting on with your GP you can change GP within the same GP practice and just cite you didn't feel comfortable talking to the one you had that you were obviously not compatibale as people. Everyone deserves a GP who makes them feel listened to and doesn't fob them off.
ask your gp instead, its the gp that doesnt do their job that you need to get onto... a gp is like a rubbish middle man that doesnt care and holds up entire processes, kinda like bad solicitors in a housing transaction lol
check with your gp.... trust me... your gp is likely the problem.
you know... i asked for my gp to refer me 3 years ago and never got a word off them and they said they refered me..... i checked back and asked them and another doctor checked the files and said the gp had it there but didnt send it off yet... then asked me if id like the referal to be sent off lol
you see gps are the issue with the nhs and need to be scrapped, gps refuse service and dont do their jobs at all... your gp wont have sent the referal, would have it there somewhere but wouldnt have sent it... check with your gp or else you will be waiting 3 years like me or more depending on when you bother to check up.
I think the diagnosis will help you understand yourself better and then hopefully cope better.
So I got a diagnosis of level 1 autism. Thanks, I'm kinda overthinking and hoping that the report will explain things. It should do but the wait makes me worry.
Hi Jembella, thank you for this. My forms have been "seen" last week in their portal so hopefully a month or 2 to wait. I will keep you posted. Hope your assessment goes well.
Regards
Gavin
Hopefully they'll be in touch soon then!
That's good, hope it goes well.
Likewise I asked to get referred through the right to choose scheme to Psychiatry UK in early May (for the ADHD assessment, I already got diag'd autistic in the 90s) they have asked me to confirm details so far but I did ask them not to message me with or set anything major up until at least June anyway because I had studies taking up so much of my time. So presumably they have only just started to move ahead with things for me and I'll be on the wait list rn.
I'm waiting at the moment, as far as I know my doctor sent the referral middle of May and I've not heard anything yet, I emailed on Monday just to make sure they have the referral and it's all ok but I've not had a response.
The irony of a service for autistic people being bad at timely communication and causing uncertainty is not lost on me.
