Hey, Auti-nauts. I've not posted for a while. I can't remember if I've ever started a thread on here. Please be gentle! I wanted to ask you all a serious question. Does anyone else gets mentally exhausted interacting with other people?
Hi Tassimo!
Thanks for the PM. Saw this and thought I would add my two cents - take it as peanuts or as pounds.
I would only caveat this by making a bold statement to you all, not just Tassimo. I know it is going to sound harsh, but believe me, it comes from a place of painful learning and sharp observation. Yes, things can get anxious and overwhelming when you are socialising and working your schedule. Lean on your friends, lean on your family - that is what they are there for. But do not, I repeat, do not stagnate your life by being afraid to say yes or no to people when they offer to socialise with you. For not only is it a good learning exercise, in being able to use your intuition to navigate difficult social scenarios, but it will also build your confidence more and more and give you a sense of empowerment that will strengthen with time.
But brothers and sisters, you have to be prepared to make that move. The world will not turn on our axis.

Just reading this sentence makes me want to retreat to a warm, safe place...
Yes it is actual science, they just need the support to do it. I think Mars is the prime candidate. Sorry about the late reply, this darn website is so hard to follow!
It would be absolutely fantastic. This is actual Science too i think. Not just Scifi. There's been some books written on the subject by Scientists. Mars colonization. I think you can do it to most planets but some would be easier to do than others.
Yes. Terraforming is the only way to go isn't it. We've screwed up the Earth. We need to put half our population on another planet and try not to screw that up. Imagine that. Two planets with 4 billion population each, it should be much nicer.
Have you been reading about it? It's great. I was ecstatic when i first discovered Terraforming. I think we'll put a man on Mars this century. As for Terraforming Mars. That will happen in the future. (Assuming we survive that long as species)
Terraforming is such a brilliant idea!
They have a very limited view of what autism is tbh...
I'm in my own world all day. The internet encourages that too. Just being in your own personal space rather than getting out and about. I wonder if the internet has been a positive benefit for autistics overall? I expect before the internet autistics would just read all day instead. I've done my fair bit of that too.
Yes! What do they mean that autistic people have no imagination? That is all that exists for me.
I was poor at Science academically. I am interested though because i am fascinated by out of space and particularly Terraforming.
I've never been good at maths, people assume autistic people are though. So people suspect I'm not autistic because I'm not a maths/ science geek. I have a good imagination and talk a lot, so they rule out autism.
Same here. I was working in a bakers/grocery shop from age 16 and loved it, but it was hard work and had no real future. I didn't know what I wanted to do and thought to myself, I should go into Accounts as I am great with numbers and maths. I called lots of agencies looking for a job and they used to laugh at me (no exaggeration) as I had no experience.
So, I started a short book-keeping course and managed to land a job as an Accounts Clerk. I loved it. I had my own desk (felt like a big deal at the time) and I was instantly good at it.
I laugh now, but I was so specific about detail and used to reject expense claims because they were out by a penny. Keep in mind that I was 18 and quite a naive and immature 18. I used to really p*** people off with that, but used to think to myself, "but they got their submission wrong" - it never entered my head that it was just 1p. For me it was right and submit-able or wrong and not. I guess this might have been an early career sign of my Asperger's.
I wanted to be an accountant for a while as teenager because i was excellent at Maths as a child. I actually enjoyed it and would get my Nan to set me problems.
