  • Hi Sarah, I am new to this forum aswell and have a 24 month old son who began to exhibit very strong autistic symptoms Recently.  He has been diagnosed with dairy intolerance when he was just 10 months old and has pronlems with delayed development ever since solids were started. He was a cheerful, happy baby up until then With plenty of eye contact and verbal interactions. Fortunately we became aware of the new autism research which links it to gut-brain connection.

we have managed to successfully treat with the specific carbohydrate diet which include elimination all carbs strictly. Please visit the website 'breaking the vicious cycle.info' by Dr Elaine Gottshchall

and you will read a wealth of information that can possibly save your child with just a pure change in diet. if you google gut brain connection you will see latest news reports linking this exact theory to autism in recent days. All the best, and hope this helps your little one!
