New Here, Female, 48 and Not Diagnosed

Hi Everyone Wave tone2

so yes I’ve probably known for ages I’m autistic and after the staff conference where literally all the noise, smells, chaos, ridiculously bright lights, abstract tasks and small talk almost wiped me out I decided to go for a diagnosis. I’m in the UK and probs need to wait another 12 months Shrug tone2female sign

it’s been liberating in some ways and I can now stop trying to find answers as to why I have chronic anxiety…seems I can now start looking after myself. Lots of fab advice on here and it’s nice to read relatable topics.

never written on a forum before but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. I never do anything like this, generally keep myself to myself but I’m hoping I can read and share some of my experiences as I do like to info dump and help when I find a topic I know about. Thanks for reading and hoping to share info and experiences with everyone.

Bye for now Wave tone2

  • Welcome  !

Your staff conference sounds like it was really difficult,  but hopefully now you know, you can start making your life easier. (And avoiding such situations!)

I hope you can find more peace here, I think it's so much easier than other social media which is throwing stuff at you all the time. You can pick and choose what to look at, post when you feel like it, there's no pressure or adverts, and it's searchable so you can find things again. I hope you can enjoy it!
