There's a Taosit expression that is often quoted: "The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step"

I learnt, a few years ago now, that is a mis-translation.

Apparently a better one is: "the journey of a thousand miles begins underneath your feet"

Cue song from Mary Poppins...

"Great oaks from little acorns grow..."

All of these suggest to let yourself and others know where you are now and go from there.

You've indicated that you feel like a fraud so maybe I can comment on that?   'cos I did too :-)

So, baby polar bear asks mum - am I really a polar bear? -"yes dear, now I'm preparing a meal, would you like to help?"

Dad - am I really a polar bear? - "oh yes child - now come do some fishing..."

Grand dad I am I really a polar bear "oh yes, there's been polar bears in our family for generations, let me tell you about great uncle..."

Grand ma, am I really a polar bear?  " yes darling, now tell me what is worrying you?"

Grand ma,   If I'm really a polar bear why am I so fu58ing colld?
