Hi

Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with asd in early 2024.

  • Hello!

Welcome to the forum. How's it going? Slight smile

  • Hi, could be better as a few friends have given me a kick up the backside re my other post.. even know I agree with them and I think I might have some internal damage im too scared to visit the hospital.

  • I’m sorry to hear that.

If you’re concerned but too scared to attend in person you could contact GP Out of Hours or call 111 and they could settle any worries you have, or advise you on what’s best to do.

NOT medical advice, just what I would do in your situation

I crushed my finger last year (Long story...!) and called 111 for advice as I was too scared to attend A&E/MIU. The lady I spoke to was so supportive and comforting. I did eventually end up in A&E but I was able to have a support worker who attended it with me, as suggested and arranged by the lady from 111.

They are really best to call and offer great advice.

Hope all is ok and you can get things sorted for yourself.

  • Dear iamme,

Thank you for posting to the Online Community. I was concerned to hear that you think you "might have some internal damage" and "im too scared to visit the hospital".

The National Autistic Society does not currently operate a crisis or emergency service. We advise you to contact 999 or any of the mental health crisis lines listed on our Urgent Help Page if you are at risk of immediate harm:https://www.autism.org.uk/what-we-do/help-and-support/urgent-help

If you are not at immediate risk of harm, we would encourage you to speak to your GP or another health professional about this if you haven’t done so already. If it’s outside your GP hours call 111 to reach the NHS 111 service. In England, Wales and Scotland there is now an option to speak with mental health professionals by selecting ‘option 2’ when calling NHS 111:https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/urgent-and-emergency-care-services/when-to-use-111/

We hope this is helpful to you.

    Kind regards
