Hi, I am recently diagnosed with ASD1 at age 57. I have been advised to seek autism specific CBT. I am trying to find something online perhaps in a group. Does anyone on the forum have any suggestions?

    Before starting therapy, you might find it helpful to borrow or buy this book, which includes discussion of various types of therapy and counselling, together with advice on choosing the right therapist or counsellor - all from an autistic person's viewpoint. Several of us here have found it very helpful, myself included:

    Various therapists and other service providers are listed in the NAS's directory, which you can search by postcode and radius:

    Other options include searching via:

    • The BACP register.
    • The UKCP register.
    • The Psychology Today website.
