Meeting

Hi I read somewhere that a meeting for parents with autistic children is held in Hyde on every 2nd Calendar Monday. I can’t find any information now though.
Does anyone know if these meetings are still being held ?

  • Hello there ,

I am going to work on the assumption that you mean Hyde, Greater Manchester. It's not my neck of the woods, but I had a grandmother who lived near there.

Despite having a wee search online, I was unsuccessful in finding any info about such a meeting in Hyde.

You may already be familiar with the following, but if not, then maybe it might be of some use to you.

There is TASCA (Tameside Action for Social Communication and Autism), which is a parent-run support group for Autistic children and their families within the Tameside and Glossop area.

  • From what I’ve been hearing, it’s perhaps wise to bump this event forward, as Central London is very unstable at the best of times and especially recently with the protest actions that are going on - besides, there are a lot of travel disruptions, mainly rail strikes, so getting to London would be very difficult for most people - I had considered going home to Ireland for Christmas from Manchester, but I can’t even get to airports by train or by Coach, let alone use SailRail via Chester & Holyhead to Dublin like I normally would have done - I suspect that the Met in London have lost control of the situation and people’s safety cannot be guaranteed, as the Met do not have routinely and visibly armed officers. The situation here in Manchester is equally bad, especially in Piccadilly Gardens and the City Centre, which needs routinely and visibly armed officers and a total ban on all protests
