Does anyone else have one?
I installed one at the weekend and have become slightly obsessed, it measures rain, pressure, temperature, humidity, sunlight and UV, wind speed and direction. I currently check at least once an hour and the app has graphs and everything!
It's ace.
Just checked Windy out, Andy P - looks really interesting, especially as it covers the world.
Have you used the website windy.com - all that data you mention, but realtime, anywhere on the planet... i can get lost in it for hrs..
I would love one. I am easily obsessed by anything like that which can gather statistics like that.
Do you make sure your outdoor sensor is in the shade ?Direct sunlight throws all your reading off.Outdoor sensor needs to be in the shade, ideally in a " Stevenson " screen for accurate results.A Stevenson screen blocks all u.v light whilst allowing the sensor to gather the air temp/Humidity for very accurate readings and forecast.
Thanks for posting this Joe, that graph is really cool.
I like the way it shows the highs and lows in the cycle!
I prefer number stations.
This is the pressure graph from the last 7 days
Hi Joe. I find them fascinating too! My current one is an Oregon Scientific unit, which I've had for 23 years now. It measures room temperature and humidity, the weather trend (sunny, rain, clouds, etc.), pressure and pressure history, and the current time. Your unit sounds very comprehensive, especially with graphs in the app!
At the moment I'm looking at changing it for one with a bigger display as my eyesight isn't too good, so I'm looking at different makes and models before I decide which one to get.
I agree that it can be very obsessive. Although I have the Met Office app, I like that I can look at the weather station at any time without having to get into the M.O. app. It's especially interesting when there is a low pressure system approaching (or going away) because you see the pressure suddenly dipping (or rising) sharply on the history readout.
Sounds great. If I had the time to check it regularly I would probably get one too.
I just looked them up on Amazon.
Very very interesting.
Thank you.
I didn't know about them.
Trying to post a picture but struggling x
It's an ecowitt one but I chose not to share data publicly atm, my neighbour was OK with me screwing it to the fence.
I listen to the weather as my sight isn't great after a mental health problem. I used to check it on an app but it's easier to listen to now.
I looked after one at school and really enjoyed it, it’s where I learnt the word anemometer. Mmm, I might have to look into weather stations again!
Interesting.
I have the Met Office app but that's mainly for forecasting.
What is the name of the app/s you use?
