I would like to introduce myself. I am mother to an 8 year old boy whom we have just been told by the clinical psychologist has aspergers. It has taken 18 months to get this diagnosis as they first just said he was an anxious child, it's only that they were going to do some work with him that they have changed their minds. We asked for him to be refered as we have suspected he was autistic for a long time. He has lots of sensory issues. He won't eat most thing, doesn't like smells, won't wear certain clothes and needs cuddling all the time. he is very dependent on me and worries when he doesn't know what I'm doing or where I am.
I wonder if anyone could point me in the direction of some information to give to school about his eating issues as they keep making him eat things which causes great distress at the time and when he gets home full meltdown and a very bad nights sleep. I have been in to talk to them but would like to give them some leaflets.
Any advise please.
