Hi - I'm new here

Hi, I'm new this his board, so I thought I should introduce myself here first.

I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was still I school - I tried to brush it off for years, and get on with my life, but I have too many problems to be able to do that.

I've been trying to find work, but with no luck, first because I find it difficult to write an application letter, also I find it tough in interviews because I'm not very good in conversation - I am a friendly, approachable persons, but that doesn't come across in interviews - I don't know whether or not I should tell them I have Aspergers, or if that would ruin any chance I have of getting a job.

I wish I could do this under better conditions, but I have to go in for an interview with a company in charge of running the Work Program, which I was placed on a few years ago. I'm worried about it - even though I've had interviews with them before, and everything was okay. My mum has agreed to go with me, but I still feel like it's going to end badly.

Anyway, that's me, and that's where I am right now. Sorry if this all sounds bad, but that's just how it is. Sorry.

  • Film,

Don't be an apologytist, things will "work" themselves out. Work is just an idea to get the idle working for those who are idle too but call themselves management.

Labour towards and for your heart, forget work for just work, it does not work. Work program sounds like something out a prison service framework. "Am a working boss !", "step off the line, boss !" .., only joking. Seriously, don't be to quick to run into a system of work, find a passion that suits you and the rest will follow. Be it baking cakes, painting, nature or investment banking.

What sort of "vocational work" are you looking for ?
