Hello from Alabama

My name is Forrest.

I'm not sure if I actually have autism. However, all of the symptoms line up exactly, and it gives me so much clarity that I feel almost certain that I do. I joined this site in hopes that self diagnosis is sufficient. For the record, I am not, and have never been in, the UK. However, the other sites either require money or only do video chats, which I'm not comfortable with. So, I really hope to be accepted here. If I'm not, I apologize.

  • Im already diagnosed, but i couldn't pass up a new test... Looks like i have "significant" autistic traits.  Really could've done without knowing that. 41/50, go me! Thanks aidie.

    Welcome to the community Forrest.

  • Hi Forrest, and welcome from England.

I also think symptoms make me somewhere on spectrum aswell. With first assessment last year(which friend and ex suggested). First assessment said i was but needed clarification, now they say i could have "something like Autism"(vague!),or ADHD(i dont agree with that, and wouldnt take meds for it anyway). Await those 2 and other 2 in team deciding-bet will be repeated mental health diagnoses of last 30+ yrs(also dont accept diagnoses of MH-as not relevant for me,and damaging).

  • Hi Forrest

    Welcome aboard

There's lots of undiagnosed people here - some on their diagnosis journey.    It's worth looking around the forum to see if anything chimes with you.

I was diagnosed in my 40s - thought I was like everyone else until it was all pointed out to me,

  • Hi,

Lots of people are self diagnosed. Welcome (virtually) to the UK.

Hope you get a lot out of the site. I know I have :-)

  • Hi Forrest,
