Hi I'm new here. I am currently in the process of being diagnosed at 20. I have always had issues but everyone always passed it off as something else. I suffer from anxiety and depression but never really knew the reasons. I guess I'm here for a community and help as I don't do well in social situations.
Hi Katrina,
welcome to this forum
having a good Christmas ?
tell us something about yourself.
i used to keep lizards i think u may have at least one.
His name is Mushu and is a bearded dragon. He's such a sweetie. And about myself. Ummmmmm. Well I love animals, gaming and gardening.
As for Christmas it's been okay. Been a really hard year.
Yep which doesn't help
yes i am the same the dog homes are all closed --- the price of pedigrees on line is true the roof........
Hopefully when covid settles we will get another
I have but it has been put on hold due to covid.
ok u need another dog it clearly helps u ---- and some people have them around all the time as support dogs. They generally do work. drop hints to your mum and dad .
I did yeah and that really helped
yes its possible --- the "secret/hidden" one is walking mindfulness mediation. walking the dog is like a version of it. did u walk your dog on a regular basis ?
I'll try anything that might help
I've tried loads of different types. (Perhaps I just haven't found the right one.
i am just wondering if u got mindfulness correct I am still working on my mindfulness ( daily living and formal meditation )
what do u call mindfulness ?
Oh :/
wow u tried the 2 best things i can suggest
Social situations and being stressed at everything :/ I've tried mindfulness techniques which doesn't help. I think it's because they focus on what you're feeling but half the time I don't know. I've also done plenty of CBT which doesn't work.
yea sure what do u need to cope with most ? and in what situation ? and what did u try to fix it so i dont repeat recommends we have all the time in the world there is no rush here -
Could you explain a bit more?
to cope with ? pick one thing
Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into that. Also is there any info your recommend for coping mechanisms. I tried a lot but they never help.
one place i would recommend is public sector jobs eg civil service ,,, social security jobs they are just more flexible and have better neurodiversity policies
I am currently living with my parents in a village. I have considered dog grooming but I don't like the thought of styling a dog. I'm more of a get scissors and cut hair off rather than styling it. And yeah I haven't got diagnosed yet (in the process) but I would be surprised if they said I didn't have it.
Oooo I shall try that and talk to you later :)
put your lizard on your hand and bring his eye in line with yours and bring his eye as close as u can to your eye keep in eye contact all the time. stare into his eye for as long as you can. Are lizards truly amazing they are so different from mammals !
U are looking into the eye of a close relative of a dinosaur, can u feel his heart beat ? what is he thinking about ?
call it lizard therapy :) the ore u interact with nature and animals the better u will feel
gotta go talk later katrina
