Hi! I'm 19 (M) and was officially diagnosed with "high functioning autism" about 10 years ago.
My biggest interest is trains and railways, but I do also like to read (I have library cards in 4 different municipals, there might be a connection), skiing (cross country), to watch tv programs about nature (especially BBC's) and science. I like languages, I speak Swedish fluent (also English of course), I've read German in school and I've borrowed a course in Japanese and French (not like I've been bothered using them yet). I like to write in general but my imagination is really poor. The same goes for drawing. I've recently started to read some psychology and it seems interesting, some parts of it at least, maybe, just maybe, I'll try to read it at university next year. I tried to read maths at a university far away from home this autumn but it didn't really work out well. Music ... well I listen mostly pop I think, but it can be whatever I find interesting and at the latest it's been pretty much music written by a doctor.
I'm terrible at introductions too.
I've no idea what I should use the tags for either, but these to made sense for my brain.
I feel so bad for being so stupid as I apparently have been that I don't understand anything. I'm sorry.
Wow! That's soooo amazing!
Oh, n I spent two years working as a mathematician for Bombardier, a train building company and had a great time! There's loads of different careers in trains from software, to design, engineering, finance, HR, strategy, sales, ... .
Hello,
so what locos do you like? Do you like the London Underground?
Thank you, I hope so too.
I hope it goes well for you. Go when you're ready, there's no rush.
Ooh! That looks good! Thanks!
Oooh! Thank you! I'll take a look at that!
there is so much online eg
https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/
do what you enjoy that can get u work if that is possible
Interesting. I'm actually doing a free online Python course from Cisco, I found it through the national careers website.
I think they have biomedical analysis there, which they sometimes want to the hospital, that could be an option. Unless I find it too difficult. I've thought of learning some programming in python, it would be fun and there's a few authorities just a mile away that always seems to be looking for people that know some programming. But, I'm terrible at finding any learning sources online and the books at the library was useless. The only I know so far is print("Hello world")
I should try to find something about programming. You may have made me more interested in that know, thanks.
(How should I get time? I've so much I should do guhäää... [rhetorical question or something like that. Nothing you're supposed to answer on anyway. The last was a crying sound of some kind.])
i did biology but unless u go into further research it not so useful for finding work.
Computer science ( programming ) is very useful
Maths likewise for say datamining/statistics
I've no idea really, I used to like maths but that's boring now, psychology seems interesting but I'm not suer if it's interesting enough. Then they don't have that much on the university in my city that I find especially interesting, journalist education, technical chemistry, physics, biology, archive, computer science and teacher education. But I can't really say that any of them sounds too interesting.
which degree would u really enjoy ?
True, but a degree shouldn't make it more difficult at least. Even if it isn't enough to get a job.
depends on your degree
Indeed, I feel you. (This may sound really mean, I'm sorry, but may I ask what specifically you answered on? I don't get what you can't do either. Because, I am extremely bad at socialising, but I didn't mention that as far as I can read. I'm confused, sorry.)
That sounds nice! And I must watch that show at some point. But I don't think you would like me then, I love to watch trains! Except that I'm not much of talking about it, I'd rather watch them, and doing so alone.
Hi! Cool! The standard loco is indeed a really nice one. Lovely locos!!
(It has been ridiculously difficult to find other autists who like trains, and people have even said "Wow, someone that is like the stereotype", I find it kind of funny, but it seems quite easy here!)
That sounds like it ended fantastic! Even if it wasn't as good in the beginning for you. I'm happy that you manage to do it!
Thank you!! I hope so too at some point in the near future, slightly easier than finding a job I think. (And a degree makes it easier to get a job of course.)
