  • Hi CuppaT,

I found it difficult to begin with my daughter being diagnosed ASD, yet believe special children do come to special people and my daughter is a blessing in disguise.

As a parent it is our jobs to educate others to the wonderful world of our children and for us as parents to become educated also, this will allow people to better understand.

You will no doubt go through lots of different emotions to begin with, as crystal12 said your child is still the same child.

I felt similar to yourself so changed the way I was thinking about it all and don't see it as a label, I see it as a diagnosis which is exactly what it is and began to accept its part of who my princess is.

    Be kind to yourself :-D
