  • Hi Jason,

I'm glad Callie is settling into her new daycare system. I think it's very hard for our children when long term things, such as school, come to end and they have to find something new. I'm dreading it when James leaves school, but we've got a few years yet, so I worry about the here and now, not the future.

In answer to your question, James stays at his dad's two - three weekends a month, so that is my respite. Without that space I think I'd find it really hard. His dad and I separated in 2004 but he's always been there for James. I do believe his dad has Asperger's too.

James has been on medication - Sertraline for a few years now. It's an anti depressent to help him cope with his extreme anxiety. He's only on a small dose but I think it has worked quite well. I know there's a stigma attached to kids and medication, but I don't really care, it works for James and as long as he's coping, that's all that matters.

You made me laugh about other kids constantly on xboxes all over the world ..... that's him alright! His dad says he's awesome and beats adults hands down! At least with the xbox they can talk to others through their headsets, so there is some socialising (if you can call it that) and at least I know he's safe, not being bullied or picked on by gangs over the park. Everything has it's ups and downs.

Hope you enjoy the weekend. The weather here is beautiful. I'm in Surrey btw.x
