Hello from a newbie

Hi, I am new to this forum. My 13 yr old son has just been diagnosed with autism and a degree of aspergers. I look forward to getting to know you and being a part of this forum. I have lots of questions but wanted to introduce myself before I ask anything. Thanks for reading. xx

  • I think theyre all different, depending on what part of the country youre from, as in different health authorities? When we had ours they basically just did general conversation, his interests, general stuff, school etc.Nothing heavy and nothing to make him feel under pressure. They got him to draw a picture then talk about it too, sometimes they use toys, figures etc. Its more based on play and very casual so he shouldnt worry. You could start a post see if anyone else can shed more light? Sorry can only go from personal experience, but I had to do the same, a run up of warning, and all you can do is re-assure him. I told Will he was just going for a chat to some people that wanted to get to know him as he was so cool haha xx Good luck!!!
