Aspergers

Hello all, I have a 14 yr old son who has Aspergers. We've gone through the lot, diagnosis, CAMHS, medication, statements, exclusions and special schools. I still feel no closer to coping. Are there other parents like me struggling to cope, when even GP's turn their backs on you and his xbox is his only way in life!xx

  • hey there indie girl, i cant imagine what its like in your position myself , i dont have kids and have always said i think its hard enough with an autistic partner so i dont know how id cope with kids, but i think if you have done 14 years, you are doing amazing

my advice, dont turn to gps because this isnt their field , thats why there are autistic specialists in the first place

you areprobably on the best place for support to be honest, ie here, where other people can relate and who understand what you are talking about and what its really like to live with it every day

you need 2 things, something to help him with his symptoms, and, soemthing to help YOU, and as an nt, this, talking, relating will help you quite a bit to be able to keep going
