Hello all,
I am a 54 year old female who got diagnosed with ASD in 2014. I have unusual interests that are not typical for my gender such as astronomy, space exploration, meteorology, sci-fi and the superhero comic book TV and film genre as I have problems in reading fiction and even as a child I would rather read an encyclopedias and other types of reference books.
Please can any one tell me where I can locate my community profile?
Thank you
Very helpful thread.Me also looking for community profile
you sound just like me welcome! I'd love to learn more about astronomy !
Hi Katrine :) It's really interesting hearing about your interests, I also love anything to do with space/science in general. Currently musing over the problem of whether one could get far enough away from earth to look back and be able to see the dinosaurs (etc) or whether it would just be old light, though we can see the big bang so it might be possible, and there's no reason we couldn't one day translate light into images anyway - and obviously the kind of immense telescope all that would require!! It's a silly problem to think about but it would be so cool
Hi, I'm in your position too, I'm on a 15 month waiting list, and freaking out about getting the diagnosis becauseI really need the help! Though I joined yesterday and already feeling much better reading everyone's accounts and I actually for once feel like I relate to people! Hope this forum helps you too while you're waiting :)
Sounds like in fact there is still a way to go but I know is one or two entrepreneurs have edged to get there. I should think the original visitors would have to stay in domes
Thank you California that will be a great help to me. I am taking part in the SETI home institute program where I download software that is connect to a radio telescope that scans for signals from out solar system and beyond.
I have got tweere

Hello,
Yes I would like to see that too and develop into a Mars space colony. To help it along ways of terraforming of Mars would need to be discovered. We also need a faster way to travel and find alternative propulsion systems to power space vehicles that do not rely on hydrogen based rocket fuel. There have been alternative proposed such as solar sails, ion drive, nuclear propulsion and antimatter as well as warping space by warping space-time.
Don't forget to include sensory issues as a child and any life long special interests that you have had from being a young child. Also difficulties in focusing/reading fiction and preferring factual/reference material and as well as mental health history.
The first thing to do is to make a journal of your symptoms as well as write a childhood to adulthood history. it's good idea to get help in this process with anyone who knows you well when you were a child and it does not necessarily have to be your parents or siblings but others such as cousins, friends, professionals etc. The most important thing is to get much evidence as possible to present to take to your GP. Never go on your own but always go with someone knows you well even if they are professional. Get help from an independent advocacy agency such as DIAL. You can have autism and mental health problems as they are linked and you may have to go through the mental health pathway to get an adult autism diagnosis. I hope this is of benefit to you.
Hi
I hope I will live to see someone on Mars. I like SF too
Hi I`m new here just joined I haven`t been seen by a specialist yet ( can take up to 12 months ) but I`m on a knife edge have I got Autisum or Mental health problems ???
It's on the top right corner of the screen. Click on the one with a silhouette of a person, and click 'profile'.
Thank you California, for your kind compliments. The profile that I created for the community forum. I am unable to change the font size and colour.
I like your thread. Especially, the bigger font, blue letters and the yellow color.
What do you mean by the community profile?
