Hello everyone, diagnosed yesterday with autism and hypermobility, I am looking forward to joining this community and sharing experiences... it’s been a strange journey, my head is buzzing today!
Hi is your hypermobility one of the eds's ?
Hi Song yes, apparently so, I’m being referred for blood tests for vit D etc, they told me that my autism may mean that I may not have been aware of cues from my body Do you know more about this?
Hi yes I have type 3 eds are they saying the 2 are linked?
When you get your eyes checked you must tell them about the eds.
Thanks so much, will definitely mention this on my next test...
The eyes, well as your ligaments are more " floppy" they don't hold the eye as well as they should., If you get what looks like conjunctivitis you should get it checked as there is something with the membrane that looks like an infection but isnt, we are more likely to get glaucoma and retinal years also I can't remember what it's called but the lens gets thin and bulges. Remember you are not necessarily going to get these but there is a slightly greater chance that you will do you need to look after your eyes.
