Hello

Hello, I am mum to two fabulous children, my eldest is nearly 3 and has (2wks ago) got a diagnosis of ASD, and my daughter just turned one. We are in the early days of the ASD world. There is so much to take in its been a little over whelming to be honest. And although it was something that we had expected/anticipated (although not formerly mentioned by any professional that we were dealing with, annoying!!!) when we got the diagnosis confirmed it was still a shock.

We are on the waiting list for a couple of groups and informative sessions and are hoping that after attending these we will feel  better equipped to learning to deal with our sons needs.

This is the very first forum I have joined, hello to you all and goodbye for now.

  • Hi there,

At the moment they have said that he is showing characteristics to put him on the spectrum but have not said where. They have not given us any indication that this is something that they are likely to do any time soon either. The way we understand is that he has an ASD and its only through time and development that they can determine where abouts on the spectrum he will fall??? Is that right????
